this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; We are being suspended into oblivion and this disrespectful P.O.S. gets to run around trying to rip players' heads off! He needs to be banned before he hurts someone and changes the game to touch football forever. Alaska...

Re: What to do about Suh?

Alaska, I don't think I can add anything else to what you said about that aszhole.
Boomer E. and the the others said, it is supposed to be a brotherhood and the players need to protect the players. This thing , Shu, his intentional hits which were all recapped on today's pregame show, clearly show no one on Det Lions is checking this guy. No one , like GOODELL in the NFL, is checking this guy. Ridiculous!
Shannon S. said the fines and anger management are not working.
As for Goodell, taking extremely hard line and over the line punishments with the Saints' bounty talk, will give the NFL no credit in court from those head tramatized players because of things like Shu. Helment to helment hits are allowed to at certain times (Saints vs. SF49's last year playoff game).
So you (RG) want player safety and put player safety first and foremost in the NFL, but then Shu the maniac is allowed to be in the NFL until he puts someone in a wheelchair. You want player safety, but helment to helment hits are ok at certain plays, times. Ok?
Which is it? You want player safety or you don't?

Seems his fines and suspensions should escalate until he's done for the season, in light of how Reed was unfairly handled by the league. I really dont think Suh can help himself without some sort of mental intervention.

And what is sad with Suh is that he really doesn't need all that stuff. he would be a dominant player anyways.

Re: What to do about Suh?

Well, I'm not the biggest Suh fan in Detroit ... I think he comes up short in the maturity, attitude & character depts, much like Cam Newton, but I am glad he plays for the Lions.

Now, you all know I like you guys, I'm not trying to yank your chains and I'm not saying there aren't some issues with Suh in general, but I'm going to disagree with you somewhat on your assessments of Suh's Thanksgiving Day performance vs Houston ... never mind it was yet another gut-wrenching, mind-numbing loss that they could have won, on a holiday, in front of a national audience, where they found yet another creative way to lose a game ... that it made me physically ill and I haven't slept & you would think after how-many-years I would be used to the Lions losing on Thanksgiving & wouldn't know how to handle myself if they won anyway ... and that if I, an uninformed fan, knows that all scoring plays are automatically reviewed and there's no reason to throw a challenge flag on a scoring play, why doesn't the H/C? ... I'm gonna' focus on Suh's contribution to the game.

Other than the partial leg-whip where he almost nailed Schaub in the 'nads, and the fact he got 0 tackles/0 sacks, I didn't see anything wrong with his performance ... in fact, I was glad to see him playing a little harder and with a little more enthusiasm than of late.

I didn't see the play where he tried to rip someone's head off, honestly. Didn't see the recap of his 'intentional hits', but he's a defensive lineman & a first round draft pick, he's supposed to intentionally hit people, that's what he does. With only something like 15 tackles in 12 games, some would say he should probably be intentionally hitting people even more.

Suh has had his moments, but I thought he had a decent game, other than the 0 tackle/0 sack thing. He played with some fire, pursued the play a bit more than usual, caused a little more havoc in the backfield than usual and had more of the type of game you would expect out of him week-after-week.

He was more of a factor in the game, and other then the leg-whip, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. If anything, he's still playing well below his potential.

I agree with Slo-Mo, don't really like the guy, but even the nad kick was minor.

I agree. He is a great, aggressive player. There is no need for a lot of the dirty plays that he does.

However, I have to say I laughed my ass off when he kicked Schaub. It was just such a "What the hell did I just see?" moment. *hangs head*

Re: What to do about Suh?

Slo-Mo, do you think Suh is worth the $17.2M and $17.6M cap hits in 2013 and 2014 respectively?!

Seems like he is twice the overpay than Will Smith is to the Saints, but, on the other hand, Suh does have a lot more upside than Smith, at least at this point in their careers.

Still, for that type of cash you should be doing a lot of things right and virtually nothing wrong on game days, which I guess Suh isn't really doing at the moment.
