Brees' consecutive TD record
Did anyone catch Al Michaels comment when Brady threw a TD pass late in the game last night?
According to a lot of the sports commentators, that record, along with the single-season passing record, should have an asterisk next to it because the NFL is so pass oriented and the rules favor the QB & receiver; but they may be only saying that because Brees broke them before Brady. |

Re: Brees' consecutive TD record
These game announcers/sports commentators are boobs. During the Lions/Cardinals fiasco they were talking about Suh getting double teamed all the time & even circled him on the screen just before the play ... and just before he was blocked mano-e-mano by right-side offensive guard. The guy only gets double-teamed less than 25% of the time. His double-teaming on every play is an urban myth.
Talking heads parroting talking points, that's all they are. Put an asterick next to their comments, eh? |

Re: Brees' consecutive TD record
All we ever hear when the Saints do something good is excuses about how the game is played today. I don't see anyone else breaking these records. It is unquestionably a pass happy league, but unless you're good, you're going to turn it over more than you score. If people want to use asterisks, then you might aswell take away Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record, because he went against much smaller and slower players than what we have today. That's how much sense this asterisk BS makes.

Re: Brees' consecutive TD record
I am pulling for Brady to fall short every week. Otherwise, it's going to be a national holiday if "Tom Terrific" (YUK) passes Brees.

Re: Brees' consecutive TD record
I don't think Brady will break Brees' TD record.
Then again, records are made to be broken |

Re: Brees' consecutive TD record
THE only record that matters is how many Super Bowl wins you accumulate. All others are just a statistic and we all know what statistics are for.
