Sounds a lot like intent to injure!!
So how do the Falcons make Kaepernick less eager to run the ball against them?
"That's one of those things where if you get the opportunity to blow somebody up and make a statement," Moore said, "that's what you want to do." Saying it is easier than doing it, though. "This is the championship," Moore said. "No guy's going to lay down after you smack him. He going to come back and try to get you, so you've got be prepared for it." ... but not for money. You should want to hit people despite any money that's on the table.

The infamous locker room speech by gregg williams never said anything about money, either. But it was used as "evidence" by the NFL. See the inconsistency we've been talking about for almost a year?

Trust me, if the Falcons were doing this for money, I would want whoever started it to be gone, I would want the people who knew about it but didn't do anything to stop it to be gone, and I would want whoever was involved to be gone. I don't condone stuff like that. BTW, what William Moore meant by blowing him up was putting hits on him to get him distracted mentally. Nothing more. If you were playing a game of football and the other team was knocking the hell out of you every play, would they not be in your head for the rest of the game? |

Re: Sounds a lot like intent to injure!!
atlill, no Saints ' fans here condone that.
Saints , GWilliams talk was stupid talk. Locker room. Private stuff. Emotional talk. A disgrunted immature , venegful person , Cerullo , made sure Rodger Goodell and the NFL knew this ASAP. Saints could have been and should have been punished for this. Set the tone for all the other teams who did this and were told to stop. Saints did not . The punishments were way too severe. Keep in mind, convicted felons are in the NFL, rapists, women beaters, drug users, etc. All ok there. The lawsuits were the reason for coming down hard on the Saints. The lawsuits will be harder on the NFL because of Goodell's hard, punishments on Saints. It is going to give the opposite effect. Oh by the way, other team's players said they have been targeted. See Reggie Bush. No word from Goodell. Oooo-kayyyyy!! |

But no money is mentioned during that speech. It was a lame attempt to demonize the Saints. No evidence exists of a bounty program, that anyone has seen. We have loads of hearsay, but incredibly few injuries considering how specific this so called "ledger" was about who the saints supposedly targeted. This ledger has never been made public. I respectfully disagree with the post above me saying that we deserved at least some punishment. I agree that the penalties were too severe, but I would take it a step further and say there has been no just cause for any kind of punishment. Not when they can't present anything they're purporting as evidence. I just will never understand what is so hard about showing us what they have, if they really have it. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

"Saints could have been and should have been punished for this.
Set the tone for all the other teams who did this and were told to stop. Saints did not." ????? WTFO!? The reason the Saints didn't stop is because they WERE NOT RUNNING A BOUNTY PROGRAM! The ONLY thing the Saints were guilty of is not explaining to the league that they had a pay-for-performance program, and THAT for damn sure doesn't justify suspending a head coach for a season, a GH for 8 games and the assistant head coach for 6 games and stealing a draft pick. If it does, then there are 31 other teams that are staring a 7-9, (if they are lucky) season in the face!! |

Re: Sounds a lot like intent to injure!!
Hey, my friend, WhoDat!656! , you are preaching to the choir here.
No need for WTFO? I was referring to the hundreds of posts here where people said teams were doing what the Saints were punished for and the other teams had stopped ..so they said anyway. Saints disobeyed Goodell. Cerullo wanted revenge. Rest is history as in no season for 2012. From burningmetal "I don't care what William Moore said. It doesn't bother me. My point is your defense of him is the same that we use for our players and coaches. It's just locker room rhetoric. It's all about firing each other up, and is not meant literally. I mean, really, did the Saints actually "kill the head"? Of course not." I always say, yeah the Saints did kill the head. LOL!!! They crippled Sean Payton. His leg will never be the same. That is the only person the Saints took out. Creamed him. LOL!!! It was clearly a late and dirty hit. No where in any film did the Saints these years no more/no less go after and intentionaly hurt with illgeal tackles and such others. No more/no less than other teams. No coach, esp., Sean P, would let a player get out there and do this and get a team penalty again and again and lose more and more yards. Other teams would have loved that. Saints get penalities and you don't have to do anything except get more yards and get a TD. I know I sound silly here, but it is to prove a point. |
