So the Ravens make it to the Superbowl and Flacco thinks he deserves 20 million a year? Trent Dilfer WON the Superbowl with the Ravens in 2000. Should he have gotten 20 million? He sucked, and he knew it. Flacco has played better than him, but not near enough to deserve what he wants.

What is it with these guys and their egos before they accomplish anything? Flacco has been in my doghouse in the past for being an underachiever, but I give him credit for having at least one playoff win in each of his first five seasons, something even the 'great' Matthew 'Ice' couldn't accomplish (:rolleyes:) ... but not $20 million worth.

He's had Ray Rice & a pretty good defense to help him out along the way, don't get too greedy, Joey ... Baltimore's success hasn't been all you, eh?

Trent Dilfer didn't suck at all. He was however a very limited quarterback who managed to have success in the leauge by being very aware of those limitations and therefore played within them.

I'm not talking about Dilfer's entire career. He was serviceable over his career. But that year, especially in the playoffs? He was terrible and so was the rest of that offense. Their best output was in the Superbowl, and even then they had some defensive and special teams scores, as I remember.

So my point is that it is never about one player. Flacco has been very ordinary, on a good team, for years and suddenly he thinks he's THE man. That's where I have a problem with him.

No.. Its the Flacco that has never had a QB rating over 94% in regular season or completion % over 64 in the play offs.

Because it's all about winning a SuperBowl when you're an NFL QB. You can put all the stats you want and not win the big one or be painfully average and do, but without a doubt, getting that ring elevates you to a status above your peers. :mrgreen:.

Well, Flacco has looked pretty good in the playoffs, BUT he has been immensely helped in that regard by the brilliant catches of Anquan Boldin, who has pretty much caught everything thrown at him.

You may be right. He's got one or more playoff victories in every season since entering the league & now a SuperBowl MVP to boot. He doesn't dazzle you with brilliance, but he gets the job done. Kind of like the upgraded Tim-Tebow-model with a passing option, :lol:.

He also doesnt make clutch mistakes. This just isnt about what we think he's worth. Its about what the Ravens think about searching for another QB . Top 4 money? no. More than Shaub types. Big Ben or Romo money at the least will be surpassed.

I beg to differ, while Flacco may shine in the playoffs he is inconsistent during the regular season.

Look at his game logs:

His QB rating in Regular season is quite different from his Postseason QB rating.

Frikken Romo has a better regular season QBR.

Its time for Dallas to start thinking hard about their future at QB. Romo is what he is... not very clutch when you need him to be.

His agent could argue that his playoff performances werent anomalies, and an indictation of his progression as a QB. I remember Eli starting to get mentioned along with the elites the same way. The Ravens had a reshuffled OL along with other issues such as the firing of their OC that could've affected his performance at times. They were a couple plays away from making repeat SB appearances, and it wasnt despite Flacco being at the helm.

As previously stated, I think he should be paid more than Romo and Shaub. Shaub rarely carries the team if they cant run to set up the play action and air game, yet I think Flacco does when he's unleashed in marquee games. He can be just as good as Big Ben. Flacco's teammates such as Suggs always stand up for him in public. Im sure Romo's squad is on the fence about him, and you know it's bad when someone like Bradshaw calls Big Ben an idiot. Flacco is a model player with still I think an upside.
