Reggie Bush to Lions?

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; I think the Patriots are pretty good with Ridley. He hits the line pretty hard and picks up them short/goal line yards. Why pay Bush big money when Ridley,Vereen and re-sign Woodhead....

LOL so he not going to help LOL
Oh, he'll help ... but it's more a reflection on the sad state of affairs in the Lions backfield. With Reggie Bush, everyone always refers back to his college days & that he's won a SuperBowl (which was a poor year for him), but I look at his time in NO & wonder why it took going to Miami for him to have a decent season in the NFL. Is he a little bit of a prima donna? Just what the Lions need, . Another concern is that he'll want to be paid big bucks before banging out big yardage. His last two seasons in Miami were his best, but past performance is not indicative of future results, and he's only had one season rushing for a 1,000yds. I got a feeling Detroit will give him a big contract & he'll be a bust like he was in NO ... just a hunch.

I like the Steve Jackson suggestion better, I also like his running style better ... 1,000yd seasons over most his career and he's stayed with the same team that drafted him ... that's important because I don't think the Rams have had a winning season since drafting him and it shows he has the character to go out & get the job done despite being on a mediocre team, a situation any RB going to Detroit is going to face.

Re: Reggie Bush to Lions?

What do you think of Leshoure?
Wouldnt the Lions be better with a quicker pass catching back?
Somebody like Woodhead with be a good cheap option, catches out the backfield can return kicks.Either that or a player like Bell or Latimore assuming his injury has healed from the draft

I do like Jackson, since i saw a documentary on him on youtube

I like Leshoure, he runs straight ahead & is capable of getting the tough yards when you need 'em. Same with Joique Bell, he's durable & reliable. The Lions are looking for that explosive, break-away back & I'm not sure if Reggie Bush is the answer, or if that's what they really need. Their offensive line is notorious for it's poor run blocking. If you're Barry Sanders, you do Ok behind the Lions offensive lines, but Reggie Bush is no Barry Sanders, am I right?

I don't think Woodhead gives them any more 'big play' potential then they already have, which is what they're looking for & why they'll go after Reggie Bush, <sigh> ...
