this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; They should name it "The Infirmary". Not for the pain they will be bringing, but for the amount of medical staff they will need to hire to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on the team every year when they choke....

Re: Falcons to get new stadium
This is exactly what it is. They saw all that hype the Saints got from the whole possibility of playing the Bowl in their home stadium, plus the economic boost, and now they want that too. They are like the perennial little brother to the Saints...Everything Atlanta does, is something the Saints already did a year or two previous. We come out with Duece, they come out with Turner. We get some media love off of Katrina, the city coming back and all, so they see that and invent this ridiculous "Rise Up" advertising campaign and try and BUY media storyline of overcoming adversity or make it look like the city supports their team or whatever. We come out with Brees, they come along a couple years later with Ryan and try and pass him off as "elite." It's ridiculous how many examples of this there are. We won a Super Bowl first, still waiting on them....

Re: Falcons to get new stadium
The thing about Super Dome though is its almost become a staple of the city, its like you got no New Orleans unless you got the Super Dome there.
Thats how important that place has become over the years. Most importantly though, theirs little in comparison to the dome world wide. Now if say they built the current dome bigger or tore it down and rebuilt it much bigger with the same look, then thats all gravy. |
