Re: Ex-players call NFL brain-injury panel a 'sham'
The lawsuit is a sham.
One player has dropped his suit to return to the NFL, and there is no way what so ever to determine if the brain injury any of the legitimate cases have was caused while playing in the NFL.. Nearly all NFL players have played at least 8 years of football, 4 in High School, and 4 in College. If you assume Jr. High they played 10+ years before getting to the NFL. |

Each concussion sustained makes it easier to get subsequent concussions, and that effect lasts up to 7 years from what I read. So a concussion as a Sr in High School leaves a player vulnerable into his 2nd or 3rd year as a Pro. http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/nfl.html Heading a soccer ball is 20 Gs, it takes about 95 Gs to cause a concussion. I believe that some people are more susceptible than others. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...ne/MAG1176377/ |
