Yes.
But $10,000.00?! Us little people have a hard time wrapping our minds around that. Us little people also see the end of the two teams getting together on the field and praying at the end of games. We see a whole team punished for the words one. We see players getting fined for tackling too high, too low, or just plain too hard for this current regime's liking. We see lawsuits from former players who may indeed be hurt but most likely pissed their money away and are striking the NFL pinata hoping to unleash gobs and gobs of money. We see an NFL respond to thousands lawsuits by bullying a team into losing their coach, GM, Assistant coach, and trying to suspend many of it's players (two of the defenses captains.) We see a better understanding in Chronic Brain Injuries and an NFL that wants more games to be played in spite of that knowledge. We see players swing helmets at other players, stomp on players, gouge eyes amongst other despicable acts and those players miss a game or two while a team and it's remarkable fan base suffer for a whole year due to what may have or may not have been said. We are watching an NFL that tells it's players that despite the fact that they have worked all their lives to get in to the league and have fun, they will be fined for celebrating after touchdowns. We see an NFL that wants it's players to be emotionless and weak on the field. Most see the game turning into flag football in the future. I foresee robots. Real robots. Robots can't sue for injury. If you ask most fans and players of football what they think of the NFL we will likely say that it's become . We detest whats happening right before our eyes and are helpless to it's changes. The beautiful game that we grew up watching seems to be eroding each year. Where's the breaking point? Will we always watch and give money to this corrupt agency? I'm possessed by Dennis Leary all of a sudden. |

Uniform violation is an easy one for me to understand. Obey the damn uniform rules and you won't get a uniform violation fine. Continue to violate the rules after receiving a fine and receive an even bigger fine. |

Well at least the excessive 10k fine will go to a good charity (disaster relief or health care).

He knows the rule.
He does not mind the costly penalty. At least the money goes to a worthy cause like United Way or something via the NFL. RGIII needs to just relax a bit. Really, the time to take him out of game was during that playoff game when he was so badly injured. Now, I really think he should miss all of preseason. Maybe play a very few minutes in. |

Re: NFL’s uniform police hits Robert Griffin III with a $10,000 fine, apparently for ‘Operation Patience’ shirt
1. The NFL is a marketing machine, as soon as people come to grips with that it will be a whole lot easier. RGIII can't take the field on NFL time and promote his own gear. Let him buy his own commercial time for that.
2. Rules are rules for a reason, it's not to remove fun it's to keep football in football... I shouldn't need to cite examples of what you might see on TV if the NFL didn't prescribe what approved apparel is. Everyone wants to know more about the personal part of their favorite player... I submit, NO YOU DON'T. If your favorite Saint took the field with a T-shirt saying "oil is evil", "eating seafood is murder", you would have a hard time getting past it. 3. This is where the logic gets questionable..... The same people that think being paid 5m a year is excessive also think being fined 10k is excessive. Nope. It's linear. The more you make the more you risk, if the fine was $50 where is the motivation to follow the rules? |

Re: NFL’s uniform police hits Robert Griffin III with a $10,000 fine, apparently for ‘Operation Patience’ shirt
Well what is probably going on is that people are most likely paying RGIII in some fashion under the table to wear the Adidas or the "Operation Patience" stuff and be photographed in it.... The shirts are for sale online all over the place, not sure who is making the profit behind that....The NFL have to make the fines big enough to negate any profit motive and stop him from doing that, for any profit or promotional consideration.
There are also athletes now who have endorsement deals, to be seen wearing particular brands of headphones before the games. I forget his name but one of the US Olympic swimmers made a small fortune for himself as a non-professional athlete, by being paid to wear a particular brand of headphones during his pre-swim workouts. |
