Pizza Breaks Detroit's Nate Burleson's Arm
Turns out his arm is broken in two places, coach Jim Schwartz said Tuesday. Burleson will have surgery Wednesday to repair the broken bones in his forearm but will not be placed on season-ending injured reserve, as Schwartz said the receiver is expected back at some point this season. Burleson will still travel with the team while he is injured.
"It was actually a whole pizza," Shaw said. "He had purchased two whole pizzas, and one was sitting on top of the other one, and I guess when he was driving one of them was slipping off, and he was reaching over to push it back onto the seat and overcorrected and hit the median wall." Shaw said alcohol was not a factor in the crash and that police did not do a drug screen because the 32-year-old Burleson showed no signs of intoxication. Sarnoff told Werder that Burleson had been watching "Monday Night Football" and crashed his Yukon on the way home. read more | |

So, any good O-linemen the Lions would give up for a WR?

No drug screening done and he had 2 pizzas for himself at 2:30 AM? Sounds fishy.

Tough break, for him & the Lions. He just had his best game as a Lion on Sunday and was their leading receiver after 3 games. Lions were reportedly on the phone looking for a WR first thing this morning. IDK, same ol' Lions off the field as well ... you don't hear about the guys winning every Sunday year-after-year being out all night, ie the Tom Brady's, the Drew Brees', et... <sigh>. |

I can't say that I blame him! I hope he still got to eat at least one slice.

I'm still looking into where he got those pizzas and what was on them, , but Nate, who incidentally is the 'best dressed man' in the NFL, doesn't seem like an anchovy-guy to me ... I, on the other hand, like a good pepperoni, mushroom, anchovy pie, .

Stephen Tulloch made a comment about Nate being at a function he had at a Happy's Pizza ... man, I hope not, ain't nothing "happy" about those places & they don't have the type of stores you can really hang out in. I'm on the case, the accident was near I-75 & Drake Rd though (Farmington Hills), prime "Happy's Pizza" territory ... it doesn't look good, . What have we learned from this? If you're gonna' order multiple take-out pizzas in the middle of the night, use the passenger side restraints to hold the boxes in place if you can't put them in the back seat/trunk. . |
