Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
Reggie Bush arrived in the NFL as one of the most hyped college prospects of his generation.
Reggie Bush Bush never matched those sky-high expectations with the New Orleans Saints, and a two-year stay with the Miami Dolphins similarly offered mixed results. No one ever described Bush as a bust, but no one would say he was a running back who had realized his potential. That seems to have changed in Bush's eighth pro season. Bush has found an offense that suits him with the Detroit Lions, and his performance this season has summoned memories of his dominant run with the USC Trojans. Which begs the question: What took so long? "When I look back, I'm so much more advanced in just my vision, my understanding of schemes, linebackers, where they have to play their gaps and just all the different things that come along with being a running back," Bush said, via ESPN.com. "So it's taken a while. It didn't happen overnight. It took me a while, took a couple years. "I would say it took a good four or five years until I really had a true, good understanding of defenses and schemes and how to run the ball." Look in the trenches for evidence of how Bush has grown. According to ESPN, a career-high 81 percent of Bush's carries this season have come between the tackles. That's up from 76 percent in Miami and 64 percent in his final three seasons with the Saints. Check out Marc Sessler's latest "Game Rewind" write-up to watch some footage of Bush in vintage form. Health might be the only thing that can stop the running back from an MVP-caliber season. W.T. Sherman is my favorite General. After all he did order Atlanta to be burned to the ground.

Only just figured out how linebackers play after 6 years?
Glad reggie is doing well but sounds like a dumb excuse to me, PT got it done while reggie was here |

Re: Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
Reggie Bush was a good Saints player when he was here and was a big part of those years leading up the SB win.
Contracts, egos, legal stuff all played a part in him moving on. He always came acorss as a good guy, well liked, mannered. Cool. I wish him well. |

Re: Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
I think his stint in Miami did him well ... he seems like one of those RBs that has to 'be the man', plus they ran him between the tackles. This, plus his pass catching ability made him exactly what Detroit needed, a legitimate RB that could catch passes ... in their search, they got Joique Bell as well and the Bush/Bell combo is proving to be a winner, .
I honestly thought I wasn't gonna' like seeing Bush in the honolulu blue & silver and that they were gonna' use him wrong, but I must say, he's been a great addition to the locker room and provides the running threat the Lions have been lacking all these seasons. Maybe he just grew up ... |

Re: Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
Bush is on fire. Detroit looks like it has taken a big, big step up this year, D is playing well, O is looking good. I hate to say it but if the Saints and Detroit make the playoffs I hope another team plays them and beats them. Scary looking team!!

Re: Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
Expectations were to high for Reggie in New Orleans. Had we not expected him to walk on water like he did at USC, the majority would realize he was a pretty good Saint. I'm happy he's finally coming into his own and becoming the type of player I thought he could be.

Re: Reggie Bush fulfilling his potential with Detroit Lions
I was hurt when we got rid of him. Reggie was my guy. He was good here. Idk why people feel he wasn't. WE didn't use him right. So as far the player we basically traded him because of...he'll probably be a star once he leaves. Maybe we don't use him right either.
