I hope the people around those who cheered tried to settle those others done. Call them out for that was wrong. That is NOT cool. Fandom is not like it was.  I am not going to say we have not had Saints' fairweather fans or ones that needed to trade in their tickets and get right with their own lives. Get a life. Ex. ,the fan who threw a beer on Bum Phillips. Still, there was a time when if fans were not happy with a losing team, they made fun of the team and of themselves too. Ex. Saints 's fans calling themselves the Aints. The Unknown Fans with the brown paper bags .....a take off from 1970's The Gong Show with the Unknown Comic. Booing is ok , but only if a guy is down hurt, down. That is NOT cool. Cheering is ok , but only if a guy is not hurt, down. That is NOT cool. |
