Re: NFL Rating Higher Than Game 1 of The World Series
I'm sorry, but I've lived in Baseball towns before. I still have no clue how they fill the stadium several days during the week, including noon weekday games.
Then again, there are a lot of empty seats. They play WAAAY too many games and the season is WAAAYY too long for me. I can actually follow college baseball better than MLB. It's a sport outside of my attention span to watch for 9 innings. I sometimes catch up on games like 4th or 5th inning in, sometimes 7th. They can put me to sleep. Seems like not long ago, TV games with 9 innings were lasting 3 to 3.5 hours. Maybe they cut that down, but they need to do something like introduce a game-clock or something because I've literally had games put me to sleep, I wake up and the game is still going on (and mostly boring). And then there are the bad teams that will never go anywhere. Just a handful of teams make the postseason. Seems like some franchises skip the post season in 10 to 20 year intervals. I don't know how fans of those teams keep up. Finally, I do like to actually go to a baseball game when I get a chance rather than watch baseball on TV. And although I LOVE football, I'm starting to enjoy watching football games in the comfort of my man-cave more than the hassle, headache and expense of actually going to football games. |
