What a circus. Note: My guess is that Washington is allowing Cousins to show his stuff and then use him as trade bait.

Kirk Cousins will get his shot to lead the 3-10 Redskins.
The second-year quarterback will start in place of Robert Griffin III, according to multiple reports. Griffin, who had offseason knee surgery, has struggled this season, completing 60 percent of passes for 3,203 yards for 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions |

Not bad but certanily not worth what they gave up. Cashing out for one player, when has it ever worked out? Crazy because coaches make game decesions off of stats but throw it out the window when it comes to the draft.

Re: KIRK COUSINS TO START SUNDAY; RGIII WILL BE INACTIVE
The Redskins offense operates like a college offense. They had a lot of success with it last year but didn't get them far in the playoffs. Everyone can see how it runs this year.
Again, until RGIII shows me something, I'm placing him in the "Cam or below" category. I think Cam Newton's attempt to become a pocket passer has been marginal at best. RGIII is now less than stellar. If you look at RGIII's senior season at Baylor, he merely threw short passes, ran the ball when the pocket got squeezed, and/or chucked BOMBS to wide open receivers. Now in the NFL he is having a hard time even with the short passes. NFL defenses are not going to allow wide open receivers deep. RGIII has ZERO medium pass abilities. I've watched 2 games this year and there's no way that offense will produce anything. I don't even believe RGIII would be good in other offensive schemes. Although I think Shanahan is no longer viable as an NFL coach, he deployed an offense tailored to the player his owner paid a lot of money for. I think, in so many ways, Snider is as bad an owner as far as team tampering as Jerry Jones. Shanahan wants "out" of Washington because the product on the field is not his, it's what the owner wants. Shanahan is just a manager, that's it. |

It doesn't end either. Come draft time their 1st round is an interest payment. Really doesn't matter though. They were on the otherside of this with the Ricky Williams deal and still went nowhere.

Re: KIRK COUSINS TO START SUNDAY; RGIII WILL BE INACTIVE
On a related note, I keep saying, THIS is a preview of what's going to happen to Russell Wilson, eventually... Right now, Wilson is on fire, the kid looks great and is very talented, he runs around out there doing all this amazing stuff, it's incredible to watch him...but he's never gotten hurt, he thinks he is immortal, like all 22-23 year olds do....eventually, Wilson is gonna get hurt and go down, just like RGIII did -- which he WILL, it's just a matter of time. He's too tempted to run or extend plays, and it's too big a part of the whole package of what Russell Wilson does. A knee will pop or a tendon will rip, or a shoulder, he'll face painful surgery, long rehab, Seahawks season is over, blah blah blah. And when he comes back, Wilson will be a split second less fast, a split second more tentative out there, and a split second easier for defenses to figure him out and contain him. He will do more than RGIII but Wilson is NOT gonna be able to play his whole career at that amazing, out-of-his-mind, lights-out level that he's playing at right now. The difference between RGIII last year and RGIII this year was visible, even to a casual fan like me.
