Re: Loss to Saints not blueprint for rest of NFL
The main flaw of this article is that the writer assumes that it was what the Saints offense did against Carolina's defense that won us the game. He's 100% wrong. It was the Saints defense that exposed Carolina's pedestrian offense. The blueprint to beating Carolina is this: Contain Cam in the pocket while also having a good push up the middle and jam the receivers at the line. Do that and Cam isn't a smart enough pocket passer to get the job done. Where's my paycheck ESPN?!

I don't know who started the "blueprint" thing, but there is no such a thing as a "blueprint" to beating anyone.

Let's hope not, or everyone will be studying the Rams.

Re: Loss to Saints not blueprint for rest of NFL
As I posted earlier, the Rams are bipolar. They are a dangerous team and quite frankly your game plan sucked. I was surprised by Payton's game plan. The worst game plan you can have against them is to spread it out and try to pass all over them. Indy tried it, Seattle tried it, and the Saints tried it. Once you get down on them like that and are force to pass it is game over.. You cannot leave you tackles on an island with Quinn and Long. You guys should have tried running the football in the teeth of their defense, and mix in play action pass with them. The Rams can be run on and their was not better example of that when Dallas (haha) and San Fran ran it right down their throat. I realize the Saints are a passing team but you gotta evolve.
Go back to your normal game plan with the panthers and pass. If you can neutralize Hardy and keep Luke guessing you should have success. The Panther secondary can be had. I think the Saints win this one 24-23.... |

Blueprint
Score one more point than the other team. Keep opponents from scoring more than you. Create turnovers. I should be an expert or something. |
