Falcons now paying for personnel sins of the past
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The many personnel issues of the Atlanta Falcons have been there for all to see in this hugely disappointing 4-10 season:
An offensive line that struggles to pass protect and run block, a defense that is far too porous and allows too many explosive plays and too little depth overall. And while injuries to key personnel -- wide receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White, starting left tackle Sam Baker, defensive end/outside linebacker Kroy Biermann, linebacker Sean Weatherspoon and running back Steven Jackson --have proved a major obstacle, the seeds for this deflating season were sown years ago with a series of misjudgments in free agency, the first of which came in March 2010, along with issues in developing offensive linemen. Fantastic stuff! Where are those Failclown fans that were here debating those very same points that we were making before the season?! That fan base is just embarrassing at this point. I guarantee they'll be back next summer talking about being Super Bowl contenders and we'll just shake our heads because we know better.

If we make all the player cuts that make sense, we'll end up with around 30 million in cap space. This offseason could be a promising one IMO. We'll have a nice draft pick, our schedule in 2014 won't be as difficult as it was this year, chances are that we wont be as devastated with injures, and we'll be a little better in the trenches. |

I'll take a season ending beat down of the Panthers, if you guys can manage that somehow.
