Awwwhhhh... Jerry feels left out.
Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones, a postseason spectator for the fourth consecutive year, is in favor of expanding the NFL playoffs.
"From the standpoint of looking at how exciting it is for a city or a community to be involved in the playoffs and the fact that you can have a team that might have literally operated at .500 or in that area ... you can have that team win the Super Bowl," Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan. "That makes a big case for adding a couple of more cities or communities that have NFL teams to the playoffs. "It just creates that much more excitement and that much more interest for people in those communities. So I fall on the side of the ledger that would increase the playoffs." Jones was answering a hypothetical question about adding two teams to the playoffs in each conference. Jerry Jones of Dallas Cowboys in favor of expanding NFL playoffs - ESPN Dallas | |

Re: Awwwhhhh... Jerry feels left out.
Yeah, Jerry Jones in FULL SUPPORT of allowing 7-9 and 8-8 teams into the playoffs. Meanwhile the Cowboys miss the playoffs for the third year straight at 8-8 LMAO

For some strange reason that I cannot explain, that man's anguish makes me smile.

Re: Awwwhhhh... Jerry feels left out.
That is just silly. What is he talking about.
You already have teams in at Wildcard at perhaps, 8-8, depending on the rankings for that year, conference, and division. The playoffs are confusing as it and is very crowded. A team , such as Saints 2013 , are lower ranked than others in their division to teams with fewer games won. The Saints and teams like them are lower ranked even though they won more season games , but lost more divison games. To have teams at 8-8 , 7-9 in playoffs and be perhaps, ahead with homefield advantage because they won more divison games over a 11-5 team is just siller. Hey, why not make the playoffs available to any team that wins at least 6 games. Why would palyers want to really work that hard and work their bodies if just about every team can be playoff bound. Jerry Jones, uhh, you sort of feel sorry for his heirs who must be biting at the whatever for him to die so they can take over . He is ruining their inheritance , LOL!!! |

Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys for $140 million. The Cowboys today are worth $2+ billion. This year, AT&T agreed to pay $500 million for the right to name Jones Mahal AT&T Stadium. Jones net worth is around $2 billion. The Cowboys may not be reeling in the championships, but sure as hell are reeling in the cash. The Jones Boys' (and Girls') inheritance, for a number of generations down the road, is very secure. |

Even if the top two from each division went to the plsyoffs the Cowboys would find a way to blow it. If the cowboys want to improve may I suggest thst come draft night everyone gets there a hour early and bars the doors to stop Jerry making picks.

Re: Awwwhhhh... Jerry feels left out.
Tobias, it was a joke. JJones runnig his mouth every week and so saying some off things like the DC lost one particular Sunday was a moral victory.
It was a joke in reference to how people, DC fans, and media say the man is too much a micromanger....must be hard to work for....when is Garret's day up...etc. I am well aware that Jones and of EVERY NFL owner . These people are billionaires in total assets and as the joke goes, the NFL' teams or any sports franchise is the owner's toy. That toy is a part of their many businesses. I was joking. Sort of like the joke people say that Ms. Mara is an actress. Fine and she is a good actress, has proven herself to be , is respected as an actress and for makin g her own way and is rather private but umm, she is heir , double, still connected to PS and NYG ,two NFL' franchises plus all whatever else her family on both sides own . Google her. |
