Are you trying to say because Butkus was a knucklehead, we have to like Sherman? And what about Bill Belichick? Because he trashes a player, we have to like Sherman? That doesn't even make sense. Is wife beating, shooting people and bar fights the only standard we have? Is that how we've become a "soft and weak society"? The fact that he grew up in Compton and ended up going to Stanford and getting a degree is inspiring, but do you think Stanford was proud of his tirade on TV the other night? He could have smiled, gave an empty platitude about the 9ers being a good team and walked off looking like a champion. But instead he sounded uneducated, was annoyingly arrogant, and went out of his way to embarrass another player that he had just beat, which most people would think is classless. Is that the kind of image you think Stanford wants representing them? I don't think anyone in the thread has questioned Sherman's ability on the field. He's a great player and may be the best corner in the game right now. Some people just think he's a poor sport or classless. Just because someone is a great athlete, doesn't mean they're a likable person. If you've been reading the news this last week, the majority of people seem to think he's an ass. You have a right to your own opinion, you can take the guy "that tells you what he thinks", I'll take the guy that wins with class. But hey, congrats on going to the Super Bowl. |

Re: Class interview by Seahawks sherman
LOL comparing Sherman to Butkus and not even spelling his name right...that's a bit of a reach I would think.... six more Pro Bowls to go, then we can compare....But whatever you Seattle fans need to do, to try and validate Sherman's puerile antics and "me" mentality, you go girl....notice today he was out there on the talk shows making the rounds, backpedalling, apologizing....did Butkus ever apologize, LOL.....shouldn't you Seattle fans be over in a Broncos forum, throwing food on their injured players?

Re: Class interview by Seahawks sherman
May not be roid rage but sea cheats have had a nfl high test positive for PEDs.Wheres the nfl elite on this. Also have had most flags in secondary but coached that way.If you grab mugg armbar ride the back like the team did to saints an other teams this year the Refs have not called pass interference nearly enough to make the sea cheats stop. Now if all teams including the saints wrere allowed to do this i could live with it.Think you can make a case the Saints had the best secondary as they had the handicap of being one of the teams which had to srictly follow the letter of the rule cause if they did not the refs stop them.Think back when drew was trying to call teams offsides the Refs called three flags an on the third one drew stoped doing it.I think drew did it the 3rd time because he was outraged by what the REf was doing an Drew wanted to see if the Ref had the nerve to do it a 3rd time.YEP Ref had the nerve an Drew had to stop.Drew was doing same as allways but Refs had to stop saints from wining enough games to get homefield thru out playoffs.Old class act should have to sit a half in superbowl for what he did on an off the field but do not hold your breath as to my eyes rules are only for select teams.Saints had a great season considering each game they had to play two teams the 2nd one being the refs.Just old nuts me as i still think more than one shooter of JFK in 63.

Re: Class interview by Seahawks sherman
and again, it's not trash-talking here.
The play was over, the game was over. He sprinted to get in Crabtree's face and then acted like he was shot when Crabtree hit back. Twenty minutes later he is screaming about it to Andrews. Half hour after that he is on Twitter ranting more. Today he is trying to say the right things since his own coach and the entire world have called him out, but he can't help himself, saying he doesn't know why it's a big deal. We are way past the 'heat of the moment' bullsh** line he is spewing |

Y! SPORTS
As much backlash as Sherman is getting, Crabtree is a douchenozzle as well. Would it have been better if Sherman popped Crabtree in the face after he shoved him? I probably would have socked Crabtree myself... and got suspended for the Superbowl game. And that would have been stupidity in epic proportions. |
