Before this year, the coldest Super Bowl (game temp) was held in New Orleans at Tulane Stadium.

Super Bowl VI January 16, 1972

Temperature at kickoff was 39°.

Forget for a second what this means to the players and the game and look at it from a fan's perspective. You drop an easy $2000 on crappy seats, and now you get to spend 5+ hours in 20 degree weather. I hope they really enjoy all of the extended commercial breaks
