Hearing HORRIBLE Rumors; Thinking HORRIBLE thoughts.

I'll make is simple for you.

There's MEGA money laid-out on the Super Bowl.
You had the technical favorite against the momentum favorite.

Spread: 2.5 given away by the technical favorite.

NOW, let's say you tip the defensive, momentum favorite to the internal mechanics of, let's say, the offensive hand signals…

No need to buy the game or anything, just tip the best defense to the probable plays coming their way.

What would the outcome be? Better than a 2.5-point underdog win? OH, YOU BET.

And the soon-to-be NFL MVP would be none-the-wiser. Just totally blind-sided.

OR, you can believe that Peyton Manning is JUST THAT BAD and Seahawks Defense is JUST THAT GOOD.

WHAT IF SOMEONE HAD COME TO YOU AND SAID WE'LL GIVE YOU DENVER AND 21 POINTS…???

WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE BET?

Just something to think about…

My intake was this Season and not just the SB was 100% fixed and I never have seen it so obvious. Did I believe Denver would throw the SB? No.

But that is what I believe happened, theirs no way a team plays that flat in the biggest game without reason, I dont believe it was Seattle's Defense that caused it, has Seattle beaten anyone all season by 35+ pts? Thats my point into why something really smells rotten in Denmark. I mean their biggest margin of victory in the regular season was NY and JAX, and even Jacksonville managed 17 pts on them, garbage time or not, they beat JAX by 28.

But you going to tell me the best scoring offense in NFL history only gets 8 pts? Then they allow 43 even after turnovers?

It smells, people is bringing up Vegas as well, especially as it pertained to the Broncos 1 lone TD and instead of kicking the XP they went for 2 to get 8 pts, I need to look more into that though.

Cheaters cheating? You don't say!

But who would have done the tipping?

You two sound like better gamblers who loss money on the Broncos.

I'm sure nobody likes to hear it on this forum, where we have so many of our star players pushing late 20s, 30s, and beyond. But the Broncos (especially Peyton) looked OLD out there, and the Seahawks looked REALLY YOUNG AND FAST. Peyton Manning is no spring chicken anymore. He stands still like a statue in the pocket and can't move, he throws underneath routes which are easily stopped by the Seahawks style of D, while Wilson is dynamic and makes crazy plays happen ALL OVER THE FIELD. I was very surprised by the final score, but it's not hard to see in hindsight how this one turned out.

And all of these increasingly long-in-the-tooth veteran offensive players we have on the Saints, are going to be a year older and a step slower next year; and at some point they will have to go up against these same exact super-fast, super-young, Seattle Seahawks again. I'm interested to see what Coach Payton does with that.

If there is/was a conspiracy to lead the Seahawks to the superbowl, all Goodell had to do was not suspend Seahawks players for PED violations.

Seriously if you want to put a team in the SB you wouldn't suspend their players would you?

Payton changes and calls plays at the LoS. Knowing hand signals is moot. You can also bet that the Seahawks watch every single Bronco's game this season in the two weeks leading up to the SB. Broncos know this also and change hand signals for the SB.

When receivers face press-man by a physical defense they are not allowed to release, when they are, they are pushed inside. Where were Mannings dink/dunk passes? To the inside between the LoS and Seattle's LBers... Tackled upon reception.

They never suspended them all, and I am quite sure the PED (Adderall) is the culprit in more than what was suspended, Richard Sherman tested positive as well and somehow won an appeal.

If there was this grand conspiracy why was he tested. If there was this grand conspiracy why were the results made public.

If there was a grand conspiracy why was there anything to appeal?

if there was such a conspiracy... the game would have been closer so it wouldn't be obvious.

Our own high powered offense only managed 7 points the first time we played them and allowed 34 points on our defense. They just repeated that domination against Denver.

The "highest scoring offense in history" didn't not play a top 6 defense, not even once. Until they were shut out by #1.

Yep.. Not only did Denver's defense allow 43 against the Seahawks but they allowed 48 to Dallas..

And when they finally met teams in the playoffs:
Denver's offense only put up 26 against the Patriots 26th ranked Defense, and 24 against the Chargers 23rd ranked Defense.

Good point but also consider our first game was played in Seattle the Broncos had a neutral field. Give our staff credit the second game we had a much better result.

No, I don't bet on football.

However I have a major bookie in my family, and he/she is convinced that the fix is in, but only in the big games, which include some Monday night games.

There is no question that the NFL has their favorite teams. However wouldn't doubt that the League would weigh in on supporting cities
and promote the NFL in some of the lesser markets. In my opinion
the NFL is a business first and sport second.

Re: Hearing HORRIBLE Rumors; Thinking HORRIBLE thoughts.

The NFL doesn't have the testicular fortitude to fix the SB. Think about how many people lost large money because they bet on Manning. Mattress Mack that owns Gallery Furniture here in Houston lost 7 million on his own. When you start fixing those sort of losses people visit your front door at night and they are not there to talk.

Your not just playing with a billion dollar industry you are playing with your life and a corporation that has congressional oversight....

I suppose the Government is involved in this conspiracy also?

In an age of instant information and multi-media, where anyone who wants to know what celebrity ate for breakfast can, I have to ask, why have none of the said conspirators ever come forward? Why has no info ever been leaked?
Even Seal Team 6 got leaked.
Yes, there was the pro basketball scandal, and there have been allegations in college basketball as well, but when has any NFL player, coach, or official ever even hinted at a fix?

Sorry, I am not buying any of it.

It's very hard for two people to keep a secret. It's almost impossible for more than two.

I don't believe the NFL fixed the Superbowl, however, I do believe the Seahawks are cheating. Today's NFL is all about passing and offense, more yards, more points, more excitement, more money. So how did the Seahawks shut down both Payton Manning and Drew Brees in the same year? Spygate 2.0 and PEDs. Don't get me wrong, these guys are tremendous tacklers and have a nose for the ball, but there's something else to it.
