Chiefs cut Dunta Robinson
Robinson, the veteran cornerback who signed a three-year, $13.7 million contract with the Chiefs last year, has been released.
The move isn’t a big surprise: Robinson wasn’t the player the Chiefs thought he’d be last season, playing in eight games and starting just two. The move will save about $3 million on the Chiefs’ 2014 salary cap. Robinson, who will turn 32 in April, now becomes an unrestricted free agent who is free to sign with any team immediately, rather than having to wait until the March 11 start to free agency. Some team might think he has enough left that he’s worth signing, but it’s safe to say no team is going to give him the kind of contract the Chiefs gave him last year. Lot of 'old' talent available now. One strategy might be get somebody short term and worry about it again in '05. Not really Loomis' style
