Steve Smith's feeling hurt.
Steve Smith discouraged by Panthers GM's comments - NFL.com
"(I) would have wished that I would have been afforded the opportunity to be given a heads up by our GM and also with coach Rivera," Smith told WBT-AM in Charlotte. "When I did my exit meeting, no one spoke to me about it in that manner, so the unfortunate part of it is I had to hear second hand." Think he'll punch the GM? |

Re: Steve Smith's feeling hurt.
Curse of the division. Last season it was atlanta letting Abraham go and not resigning Grimes. The year before it was our bounty scandal, and before that it was Atlanta trading their picks for Jones. Every year something crazy happens with the south winners. We tend to have stuff thrown on us while other teams make stupid decisions.

Re: Steve Smith's feeling hurt.
Everyone is "surprised"this season lol.
Anyway @LarryHolder: RT @RapSheet: The #Panthers are attempting to trade WR Steve Smith, per source. Given his $7M cap number and age (34), seems unlikely. |

Re: Steve Smith's feeling hurt.
he will latch on with a winning team, but I will still enjoy his days or weeks of unemployment
On Monday, the Panthers removed the sale of Smith's jersey from their website. In what might have been his final game as a Panther, Smith returned early from a strained PCL injury a few weeks earlier to score a first-half touchdown and gain 74 yards in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. If Smith were to be released, keep in mind the San Diego Chargers and New England Patriots as possible landing spots. Smith is close with Chargers head coach Mike McCoy and WR coach Fred Graves, and the Patriots are famous for reviving veterans' careers. Smith also might not pass on the chance to play within the division with a chance at retribution twice per season, if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons or New Orleans Saints came calling. |
