They Just Won't Let It Go
The NFL and ESPN are just going to keep trying to shove an average matt ryan into an elite hole.
I'm sorry. As a casual observer, having watched football since the mid/late 70s, having seen some truly great QBs in that time, Matt Ryan is not now, has never been, nor will he ever be elite. I'm so sick of this I could puke. I'd rather them get back on the Brett Favre kick. Seriously. Bill Polian: Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan a Super Bowl win from elite - ESPN |

Just look at Drew; he gets it done no matter what... He doesn't need 1st round receivers, O-Line, or backs to be productive. Albeit it helps a lot... |

Riddle me this. How many ELITE QB's suffer through a 4 and 12 season?

Re: They Just Won't Let It Go
Elite is a relative term. Matt Ryan has consistently put up numbers that rank him between the 6th and 12th best QB in the league, so if your definition of elite is top third of the league then yes,
Matt Ryan is an elite noodle arm quarterback who folds in high pressure games. |
Re: They Just Won't Let It Go
I don't think he is elite, however I don't think he is horrible. I look at the coaching staff...
He could do alot better on a different team. |
Re: They Just Won't Let It Go
Your right he's a decent QB who just happens to be on a cursed team.

They have nothing to talk about.

Re: They Just Won't Let It Go
That 4-12 season IMO puts the argument to rest that Matt Ryan is far from elite.
Drew Brees even with bad defenses never managed less than 7 wins. What really the difference is though? Insert Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, or Tom Brady in the place of Matt Ryan last season, that 4-12 at least becomes a 7-9 or 8-8. Maybe better, thats what Atl fans havent quite grasped yet is that very concept. I would almost have to believe Atls WR's were better last season even with the Julio injury than the Saints WR's were, and the difference was 7 games, 7 more wins for the Saints than what Atl could get. Its not just Matt Ryan, hes not elite, we know that, but that team is a flash in the pan, think of the 1970s Oilers and that is about what the Falcons are. |
