Really? They are "stunned?"

Kind of like the Vikings signing Brett Favre and then being "stunned" when he ended their season with a dumb-butt interception.

NFL N is now the Johnny Manziel Channel. All Manziel all the time.

I admit I'm surprised. I thought he was a dedicated player who was over-scrutinized by the media. But my opinion is now officially changed. He is headed down the path of Jemarcus Russell and will probably have a similar career. QBs drAfted by the Raiders or Browns face an uphill battle already. Manziel better wake up fast or the NFL will lock him out.

Re: Browns stunned by Johnny Manziel's 'non-stop antics'

All the Browns had to do was watch his last year at A&M. Manziel can't even spell team much less lead one. Add that to the fact that his passing game is contingent upon him scrambling long enough to buy time for the coverage to break down. From the pocket he's a less than average QB from the pocket. Out of the pocket his career will be very short in the NFL.

In short, Cleveland just wasted a first round pick.

I'm not so sure; Wilson and Kaepernick have done pretty decent. If he gets his head on straight and starts working on his passing skills, he "could" be decent

I may have made too strong a statement but, I don't see:

1-Manziel's style being conducive to a long, successful NFL career. At A&M when he left the pocket he was a reckless runner. I see Manziel "dancing for a few extra yards instead of sliding. In the NFL, this will make him an ex-QB, fast.

2-The Brown's don't have a track record of building QB's. As much as I hate to say it, I think Harbaugh's system made Kaepernick. Consider what he did with Alex Smith before Kaepernick. The same for Seattle, the program puts Wilson in a position to succeed and he only runs when necessary. I don't see Manziel being disciplined enough to stay with the program.

3-Consider two A&M games where Manziel was effectively shut down in 2013, LSU and Missouri. In both cases keeping him in the pocket kept A&M's point total well below their season avg. I see NFL defenses adjusting to scrambling QBs as more RGIIIs, Kaepernicks, Wilsons and Manziels take the field. The Saint's did just that in the games against Seattle and Wilson's passing numbers dropped from 310 in the first game to 103 in the playoffs.

I have this weird feeling that Pittsburgh is going to attempt to rip his head off in the opening game.

So they're stunned that a guy with a "party! party!! party!!!" reputation in College decides to party his ass off after receiving millions of dollars.

As others have said, I'm stunned that the Browns are stunned.

Its why they are the Cleveland Browns.

Let's hope he is the starting QB then. Otherwise this will make bounty gate seem like pretty tame in comparison.

He won't be the starter, Hoyer will.

Has there ever been a time when the Browns back up quarterback got this much attention?

Here is a quote from a piece that included an interview with Andre Reed.

.......In addition, Reed, at a Buffalo CASINO, looked up at a television and saw a tweet from Manziel on ESPN, which stated that LeBron James was "my guy" after he announced he would be returning to Cleveland. That prompted Reed to voice his opinion on the rookie quarterback, who has drawn a lot of criticism this offseason for being photographed partying in various locations across the country.

“Who the f--- is Johnny Manziel?” Reed stated. “LeBron ain’t your guy! You’re not 'Johnny Football.' You’re 'Johnny Rookie B----.'"......

Johnny Football isn't making many friends among former NFL stars.
