Cincinnati Bengals sign DT Devon Still to practice squad to help him pay for daughter’s cancer treatment

Cutting Devon Still was strictly a football decision by the Cincinnati Bengals. Keeping him on the practice squad could be a life-saving one. After failing to make the Bengals' 53-man roster, the defensive tackle was given a spot on the team's practice squad in order to help pay for his four-year-old daughter's cancer treatment. “They could have washed their hands with me and said they didn’t care about what I was going through off the field,” Still told ABC News. “It’s like a blessing in disguise for me.” The Bengals will pay Still $6,300 a week and provide him with medical insurance for daughter Leah, who completed her fourth round of chemotherapy for stage-4 pediatric cancer last week.
