Re: How To Dismantle Seattle
I think they will use Percy Harvin in other games but since he is made entirely of ornate, finely cut glass, they won't use him to return punts in games when they have the lead safely in hand, and when they don't need the field position or points versus the risk of inevitable fumbling when Percy is eventually knocked unconscious or his arms fall off or his migraines kick in.
It looked to me last night like in theory they wanted to use Earl Thomas on punts the way the Saints would occasionally stick Lance Moore back there instead of Sproles in certain situations. Where mainly 90% of the time Lance's job is to just be there and catch the thing inside the 20 yard line for the fair catch, 10% permission to run if you see something really good developing. But I think in their case Thomas kind of did some extremely stupid stuff. Twice. The Seahawks are a highly egotistical, self-centered, narcissistic team; and that in turn could also become part of their downfall, if you can get them to unravel. When hot-headed or belligerent teams become flustered, they can actually be pretty easy to rattle and make them self-destruct. But it's not easy to do it to the Seahawks in that stadium, where every mistake the visiting team makes is so magnified and distorted. But hot-headed, 'roided out, unnecessary penalties were a big part of at least one of the games they lost out there at home (against AZ last year). |

Harvin is injury prone for sure, but Thomas could have lost a knee on that goofiness. Seattle loses him and the LoB goes down the toilet. Turbin?

How to beat Seattle?
Execute and don't turn the football over. It's that simple. That's the damn handbook to beat everyone. |

Re: How To Dismantle Seattle
Hey guys it's not so easy. This is the Same Seattle team that handed us our hand parts on two separate occasions last year , and reminiscent of the one that dethroned our Super Bowl Defense.
Manning can't figure it out , Nor Brees , or Rodgers for that matter. They're that good. If picking up yardage in chunks through the air were such a winning strategy I'm pretty sure Manning , or Rodgers or Brees would've done so by now and I'm not willing to waste another year of having an elite team betting so again. It's not. And we possess the tools to do the job. It just depends how well our running game and offensive explosiveness look at the end of the year. You have to run the clock to limit exposure to your defense , get them behind a couple of scores and see if they're still that dominant |
You Can't Say Impossible without first saying Im Possible ...

Re: How To Dismantle Seattle
Doubt Wilson will make it the season running like that, I seriously don't wish him harm but seems like a massive risk that is not really needed. He tried to stiff arm a defender last night. He should have been called for a facemask. I think he's a marked man after that move IMO.

One has to challenge Sherman too. He is human like anyone else and will make mistakes like everyone else. We have the size to make them pay for their "press" coverage. We're better than last year on the OL too.

Re: How To Dismantle Seattle
Green Bay made 3-4 mistakes that were very costly. Thats the only differnce I saw.
Green Bay could have beaten them... |

Re: How To Dismantle Seattle
I think Cooks is the perfect recipe to beat Sherman. Sherman is big and matches up great with big WRs. Cooks is blazing fast and Sherman is not. I believe the healthy trio of Cooks, Jimmy and Colston can challenge and beat even Seattles secondary.
