Oddsmaker: Bettors staying away from Falcons in Week One
If the host Falcons defeat the visiting Saints on Sunday, it will be considered an upset.
That’s not just us saying it. That’s what the point spread tells us. The Falcons are three-point home underdogs against the Saints. And at one group of Nevada betting shops, Atlanta has hardly gotten any love at all. According to data released by oddsmaking firm William Hill U.S. on Friday, 91 percent of the point spread bets on Sunday’s Saints-Falcons matchup have been on New Orleans. Interestingly enough, the Saints opened as 1.5-point underdogs against Atlanta in the spring at William Hill, per VegasInsider.com line movement records. However, the bettors have shown a clear preference in this game. And it’s not a preference for the home team to beat the spread.
