I hate Goodell as much as anyone but why does he or the NFL "need" to contact the casino to view the footage?

Cause they're in the morality business. If Goodell is going to play judge and jury then, at a minimum, he needs to get all the facts.

Nobody's expecting him to be a Sherlock Holmes but seriously, Rice drug her off the elevator. Everybody knows there are cameras in elevators.
