Report: Law enforcement sent Rice video to NFL exec months ago | ProFootballTalk

A new report is calling into question NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s claim that no one in the NFL had seen the infamous Ray Rice video until it was published on Monday.

The Associated Press is reporting that a law enforcement source sent the security camera footage to an NFL executive months ago.

That law enforcement source also played a voicemail from an NFL office number for the Associated Press. In the voicemail, a female voice confirms receiving the video, expresses thanks for sending it, and says, “You’re right. It’s terrible.”

The silver lining could be that we get rid of Goodell. Hopefully we don't end up with somebody worse then Goodell. Rice should have got a 8 game suspension so everyone can quit whining, then it could of been over with. I was cool with 2 games, but whatever.

The NFL is the only entity that can break the rules.

Lol, I bet he wish he could've destroyed the copies so TMZ didn't get a hold of it. Bye-bye Goodell

I would say the "protect the shield" image has been somewhat tarnished.

Re: AP: NFL had the video all along

I don't think Goodell loses his job for the lie or the cover up. I don't think the owners really care. The NFL is making more money than most countries, the CBA was better than management could have ever hoped for and the concussions law suit settlement was so small that a judge had to step in on the side of the players.

A lot of the owners are pretty sleazy themselves. Jimmy Haslem, the owner of the Browns, was under FBI investigation and his company was fined $92,000,000 for cheating it's customers.

Jim Irsay has a public reputation as a habitual drug user and was recently arrested for a DUI.

Jerrah Jones has had numerous complaints about his callous business practices and is currently being sued for sexual assault.

And the NFL recently change the requirements for induction to the Hall of Fame to include owners. One of the first names mentioned was Eddie DeBartolo who was involved in the corruption case against Eddy Edwards. DeBartolo agreed to testify against Edwards in exchange for a lessened sentence of a $1,000,000 fine and 2 years probation and a one year suspension as the owner of the 49ers.

Now, if the NFL starts to lose money because of all this, Goodell will be out the door quicker than you can say toady.

I had to re-post this in the Saints section. It's just sickening.
The "justice" this a-hole organization delivers is horrible.
