PFT Piles on Goodell

If he stays, how will Goodell effectively govern? | ProFootballTalk

During the 2011 lockout, Goodell routinely pointed out that he’s the Commissioner of the entire league. As a practical matter, he ultimately runs the entire sport. Will he be able to run the sport with credibility moving forward, especially when the time comes to impose discipline on players, coaches, owners, and/or teams?

The 2012 witch hunt against the Saints, which levied harsh punishments for tough off-field talk with no clear nexus to illegal on-field conduct as a potential knee-jerk reaction to the concussion crisis, undermined Goodell’s credibility, especially in New Orleans. But that case was more complex and nuanced, lacking the hot-button clarity that has made the Rice scandal a major mainstream news story.

LOL, the Saints are practically being vindicated now. Listening to Mike and Mike, they are ripping into him for the "witch hunt" against the Saints and basically now saying all the same stuff about Goodell we've been saying all along. I guess it took this for people to really see Goodell for what he is.

Funny how people all of a sudden change their tune when they find out what Goodell is really like, the stuff we've been saying for years

I hope he gets fired and can never get a job again

Re: PFT Piles on Goodell

why is when i think of Rice do i think of a minimum wage security coping all the tapes and selling them?

i would not mind seeing him out the door. maybe the next one would stop or reverse some of these anti defense rules he made. grounds to justify such a thing? players turned down life time insurance. if i was a among the low paid players i would wonder about this brother hood in a union.

no more booing at the draft? lmao each and every time. wonder why they are now changing venues.

Re: PFT Piles on Goodell

Last place team gets the draft. First place team gets the superbowl.

Team off-field occurrences in a calendar year:

1 - lose a 7th rounder
2 - lose 7th and 6th
3 - lose a 2nd
4 or more - lose 1st round pick

I hope his sphincter is ready for the corn holing that is likely headed his way. That self righteous arrogant jerk gets to be on the receiving end for a change. It's not as much fun as dishing it out is it?

Re: PFT Piles on Goodell

I still have no idea how he was chosen in the first place. No experience in law or being a player even on a collegiate level. You can see this same development in our current administration where people are put in charge of something with little to no experience, often the latter. It never ends well. Never. I knew from bountygate that at some point the tables would turn on RG. His decision making processes are diseased by personal vendettas and pride.
