Btw, just in case anyone was wondering, the awful photos are at least a week old. That means the lacerations were probably far worse than they appear. It sounds like AP went nuts on his kid. There was also a laceration to the scrotum. (!)

I'm no stranger to corporal punishment when I was growing up - I deserved it and I don't hold any grudges over it towards my parents. That being said, neither of my parents are even close to the physical specimen that AP is and, therefore, I really can't relate to what the child in question has went through.

If there was any malicious intent involved in this; as a Vikes fan I have to say: throw the book at him!

I got my share of switch whippins when I was a kid. Like some of you, I had to go pick my own. I remember my last one I got. Man, my Mom let me have it. But never did I have switch marks the whole length and all the way around my legs. Mine were on the rear where they belonged. And never ever EVER did they draw blood. These pictures look like AP just lost his frikkin mind when he started swinging and just didn't stop. I'm just disgusted looking at them.

And it should be pointed out again and again and again, it was a 4 year old, not an unruly 13 or 14 year old.

The child isn't even as tall as Adrian Beaterson's waistline.

It amazes me that the press is still calling this a "spanking". It wasn't a spanking, it was a a severe beating.

I'm wondering if the liberal media simply wants to lump all spankings into the same severity as this beating to promote their "all spankings are bad" agenda.

I'm 100% OK with spankings even with a switch. THIS WAS NOT A "SPANKING".

The same moms and grandmas that would take a switch to our asses would find this way way over the line. And several of them would probably want to "spank" the ever living crap out of AP and anyone else who thinks what AP did was acceptable.

I was saying earlier its people going overboard like this that gives those that dont agree with spanking a platform to shout from. I 100% agree with a parents right to physically discipline a child,i dont agree with the use of a switch or belt though,imo those days are long gone. Neither was used on me but i did get the occasional smack when the situation called for it and it was more than enough.

I'm wide awake. He's got 8 kids. Let's see if they all come forward and claim child abuse since we want to paint a guy as a child abuser and put him in jail for what seems to be an isolated incident of overkill.

Not to mention the jury didn't feel like it was enough of a case to go to court the 1st time around, but now that Ray Rice is burning up the news it's perfect timing to take down another athlete.

Sounds like he's not in most of those kids' lives, so he doesn't have the opportunity to abuse them.

Doesn't matter anyway. He beat one kid until he bleed from multiple open wounds and apparently also threatened to punch him in the face. That's abuse. Period.
