I doubt it is an anti-religion rant by the NFL; every time a player gets injured, players from both teams get together on the field and pray.

We have all heard players on TV thank God for helping him make a play, or achieve an award, etc.

I don't understand why the league wouldn't let RG III wear a non-Nike shirt but didn't do anything about the other player's non-Nuke shirt.

Probably because the shirt being Nike or non-Nike has nothing to do with it. Praying and thanking "god" is totally different than "Jesus" . "God" can be any god and praying can be praying to any "god", but Jesus is not as easily accepted in this society and its Muslim leader.
