Plea deal wouldn't ensure Peterson returns to field
Adrian Peterson currently is considering a plea deal that would reduce his felony charge of injury to a child to a misdemeanor, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, per a source informed of the running back's thinking. A plea agreement won't ensure a return to the field for the Minnesota Vikings star.
Rapoport reported Monday that Peterson won't be immediately reinstated and active if he takes a plea deal, according to two sources with direct knowledge of his situation. A deal could be presented at Peterson's pre-trial hearing, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Texas. According to Rapoport, there is a possibility Peterson plays for the Vikings this season, but his status won't change upon acceptance of a plea deal. Re: Plea deal wouldn't ensure Peterson returns to field
I think it would be best that MV do not take him back. Consider his career over and done.
The start of this NFL season had just too much controversy with him and the other guy for the general public to stomach. The football season is really now in midseason and has moved on from those distractions. Thank goodness. I would think it would not be good in pr for MV to take him back or for any team. He is older anyway. Be done with him. He needs to go , ugh, get his personal life in order with all his kids all over ...very sad situation. |
