Re: Chris Borland retires
I'd like them to draft Mckinney and take him of the board.

Re: Chris Borland retires
Okay a couple of years ago I had this prediction about the 49ers (mostly because I was still bitter about the 2011 playoff game, also this was going into the 2013 season) that they had so many young players playing at an extremely high level that eventually just from having all those big name players they would crumble, but I never expected in this fashion. Oh and that prediction goes for Seattle as well. So long as Wilson doesn't improve as a passer to elite levels. Those contracts will tear that team apart sooner or later

Re: Chris Borland retires
"I just thought to myself, 'What am I doing?'" Borland said. "Is this how I'm going to live my adult life, banging my head, especially with what I've learned and knew about the dangers?"

Re: Chris Borland retires
I wonder how much this costs them cap wise?
If he can do it, more power to him. He may return, however, as Ricky Williams did. | |

Re: Chris Borland retires
Tough call for Chris to make but I can appreciate his decision.
His history degree from Wisconsin will allow him the opportunity to live a healthy life. He achieved his goal of playing in the NFL (very well I might add). I wish him well ![]() |

Re: Chris Borland retires
He probably has been playing for 10-15 years, football paid for a good education and he got some cash for his Rookie year. He don't have the 'need' to play to sustain himself. I'm not suprised about young guys quitting early.

Re: Chris Borland retires
Hard decision I'm sure, but done so with the right priorities in mind (no pun intended). Wish him the best.

Re: Chris Borland retires
Don't doubt it was a tough decision but have to respect him for leaving before it was to late and having serious medical issues for the rest of his life
