The Detroit Lions signed one former Saints receiver already this off-season in Lance Moore, and they'll host another on a free-agent visit Tuesday.

Robert Meachem, who played seven of the last eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints, is scheduled to take part in the Lions' wide-receiver workout on Tuesday.

Reggie Bush signed with San Francisco.

I doubt if the Lions will sign Meachem to a contract.

Gotta' tell ya' ... after hanging around here the past several seasons, it sure makes it easier on me to follow the Lions roster when they're picking up/working out all the former Saints players, :lol: ... don't have to do so much research, ;) .

Always thought Meachem was a good blocker and a decent option for us at the 3rd or 4th spot. Not sure what he can do nowadays thou.

Lions don't exactly have what the saints have. I mean, they didn't really utilize Ebron last year like Graham and Stafford isn't elite. I find the lions annoying and their success last year a product of the schedule. For instance playing our division and the jets and getting dolphins at home. Ntm sweeping a vikings team that did not have AP or Cassel playing(which affected Patterson). They lost to NE, Buffalo(at home), Carolina, Arizona, and Green Bay once. While beating Minnesota twice, Chicago twice(late in the season), GB once, us because we choked, Atlanta because they choked, TB, Miami, NYJ, and NYG. Lets see how they do next year against a tougher schedule, particularly playing the two toughest divisions in the league.

Agree pretty much 100%, I find them annoying as well and for pretty much the same reasons, :neutral: (why aren't you on my friends list?) ... that win over Can'tlanta was legitimate though, ;) :lol: ... Detroit (in +.500yrs) has historically benefitted from the schedule or a weakened division, rarely puts together back-to-back winning seasons & has always had problems with +.500 teams. I had 'em picked to go 6-10 last season, but wasn't anticipating the NFC South to implode like it did. This year they (Lions) should be returning to their rightful place in the NFL hierarchy of 3rd (or maybe 4rth) place in the NFL North. Bet. :)

For two years I was high on that team. But they disappointed both times. No one in that division has the gusto to beat Green Bay continually. Minnesota is probably going to be second because their defense did look good late and Charles Johnson really came on too. They have Wallace now as well and I don't think the Cassel experiement is over just yet. And AP is back. But they started figuring it out with the passing game. CP just had no chemistry with TB. Also, they got even better on defense this offseason(they drafted Wayans?). Chicago? I don't want to even get started on this team. That team's hope is if SD, KC, and StL(their road games the others being Seattle and TB) underperform. I don't see it happening. There's also a 4-3-2 pattern currently in the north that supports a vikings runner-up spot and lions being last. Though given GB having the strong teams at home, they probably will steamroll the division. Vikings have those teams at home as well, which is what factored in me picking them in second.

Yeah, you fell into the trap & which is why I never get too high on the Lions ... it's been going on since the sixties, :neutral:. But you did pretty much nail the NFC North ... Minnesota is going to be the team to watch and no way they finish last with AP back on the field ... like you said though, you gotta' figure out how to beat GB consistently if you wanna' win that Division. Chicago/Detroit battle for the basement this year, IMO.

Nah, probably just a camp body if they do ... be a kinda' cool reunion considering they signed Lance Moore & have Joe Lombardi at OC ... I tell ya', y'all know where Drew Brees is going after he retires or is put out to pasture, don't ya'? :lol: ... if this trend of signing former Saints continues, I'm gonna' trade mark a slogan, something like "Who Dem?" or whatever's out there available. :lol:
