this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; You know, it's funny... Everyone criticized Jimmy for wanting to be paid like a WR, which was exactly how we used him. Now that he's actually playing TE he's horrible. Seems like Jimmy had a point after all....

But WR's are never ever used as TE's. He is what he is, a great pass catching TE that just doesn't excel at blocking. |

Not exactly. I don't recall Graham ever lining up with his hand on the ground as an in-line TE here. We argued that he was a TE because he lined up within a certain yardage of the tackle on x amount of snaps. But come on... We never used him as a real TE. DB's like Joe Haden were covering him last year.

He's a play-maker who often gets burned.![]()
Just because he can't block doesn't mean he wasn't a tight end. He had a tight end frame, with a skill-set (receiving-wise) that worked best at that position. The fact that he stinks at blocking just doesn't speak very well of him. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I think it's somewhat ridiculous that people say "move on" about a player that was very relevamt to the team the last few years. Move on past the thread if you're not interested.

Re: N/S sort of - Weakest Jimmy Graham Block
I think this is perfectly topical, because one of the HUGE topics we've had this year, was "what were we thinking when we traded away Graham?" And lot of people, including some of us, blasted the trade. Some of us, I believe were raising hell about it.
Lets dont kid ourselves. This not only answers some questions we had, but also gives you an indication that maybe our leadership does have a clue. Its 'merica.. |
