49ers cut Pierre Thomas after paying him $4,265 per rushing yard

Pierre Thomas' time with the 49ers is already over, as the team released the running back on Tuesday, just a week after signing him to a contract. Really, it's not an unexpected move, especially considering the 49ers only signed him because they needed an extra body to fill in for a banged up Carlos Hyde (foot) and Reggie Bush, who recently lost his season due to a serious knee injury.

But for Thomas, it was quite the week. Though he only carried the ball four times for 12 yards against the Falcons on Sunday, Thomas scored big -- financially, at least.

So, if Thomas brought in $51,176 for that one game, he really earned roughly $4,265 per yard! That's not the worst part-time job in the world.
