Re: The movie "Concussion"
I was on two state championship swimming teams in 1973 & 74.
The coaches wanted me to come out for track but there were girls at the meets with suits on that weighed about an ounce. You could see nipples... Hey... I was 14-15. Now I might have to watch the disability video. |

Re: The movie "Concussion"
Lets just stop doing everything fun shall we,you know we might get hurt.
Im sick of it. How many of us fell out a tree, fell off a bike with no helmet. Got hit in the head with a ball etc etc The issue with the NFL isnt the concussions imo,its they hid the evidence of the dangers. If a adult man wants to take the risks of playing a sport were he couldnt be successful in and change his and his kids and grandkids lives by earning vast amounts of money thats up to him. Dont hide he could get hurt from him, tell him and if he signs a contract he accepts what could go wrong. Im unsure of the shots i have taken to the head from playing as a child, playing soccer and kickboxing. I wouldn't change what i done,i enjoyed it and if effects me in later life ill have to deal with it then. Just make sure people are aware and if a player is hurt then you pull them from the game and make sure they are recovered before playing again. Dont start changing the game/sport though |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: The movie "Concussion"
One thing I do not like about some sports like football is the unhealthy mass. A lot of these guys are now actually getting in real shape after they retire which is ironic and also a shame. It's a shame because the NFL promotes NFL play 60 but also encourages an unhealthy body mass for many of the positions. I would rather see them play at healthier weights which would make the game more fun to watch being more agile and and likely reduce injuries.

Re: The movie "Concussion"
Agree with that
Its the slow (sort of) pace of the game that allows it. If there were fewer breaks in play or shorter play clock the players would look more like rugby playets |
