Sure, he is who he is. He also isn't who he isn't. For example, he's not a NFL passer. Without his run game he melted, as pretty much anyone here already knew and Wade Phillips so gloriously exposed. He melted, very publicly. That's his problem.
Anyone making excuses for that kind of behavior is fooling themselves maybe, but not me. I was brought up to respect people, and few things are more disrespectful than poor sportsmanship.
Next time Newton whines about respect, somebody should remind him you have to give to receive. The bigger they are, (gloriously) the harder they fall.
Oddly... that doesn't always work for everybody. Most of it says in the locker room and is never seen.
Don't think it doesn't exist on every team.
