In Defense of Cam Newton...

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; All of this crap that has be spewed on this board on Cam is a bunch of crap. It seems that people are getting off on... telling this board how they would have handled losing the Superbowl or the “correct/approved” ...

telling this board how they would have handled losing the Superbowl or the “correct/approved” way to lose the Superbowl. Many of you are assuming that you are a better person than Cam Newton.

Personally I don't care how he handled this.
Since when is it required that you have to think like the majority?
Since when is it required that you can't publicly display human emotions?
When did the NFL become the US Army?

Bottom Line...
He lost. LOL. He can cry all day long and I can laugh about it. That’s it.

This has become a media show against Cam.
Posting stuff about how wrong I think this is doesn't make me a better person. I don't get off on it.
Actually I'm just enjoying the show. LOL.

I respect Cam for going outside of the box
and taking his route and displaying his personal emotions and true feelings.
This is part of what makes him so special...
love it or hate it.

REMEMBER THIS....
Every one of us has something in our life that we would love to take back
but it wasn’t done in front of 300 million people
and the media certainly didn't cover it.

Personally I don't see a problem calling someone a jerk if they continue to act like a jerk over and over again.

LOL... So is he a new and improved jerk?

I guess it depends on who defines jerk or who taught you what a jerk is.
Some people may think you are a jerk... yet you may not think you are a jerk.

I know some people think I'm a jerk but many others love me for being that jerk.
Certainly nobody on this board would accuse me of that.

Ugh... why are we still going over this? Better yet, why would you want to defend him? Better still, why would you want to defend him on a Saints message board? I don't understand this perceived need amongst Saints fans to come to the aid of a guy who plays for a division rival.

No one said it was required.

Sure, he is who he is. He also isn't who he isn't. For example, he's not a NFL passer. Without his run game he melted, as pretty much anyone here already knew and Wade Phillips so gloriously exposed. He melted, very publicly. That's his problem.

Anyone making excuses for that kind of behavior is fooling themselves maybe, but not me. I was brought up to respect people, and few things are more disrespectful than poor sportsmanship.

Next time Newton whines about respect, somebody should remind him you have to give to receive. The bigger they are, (gloriously) the harder they fall.
Oddly... that doesn't always work for everybody. Most of it says in the locker room and is never seen.
Don't think it doesn't exist on every team.
