NFL to replace Rookie Symposium, league announces
The NFL has done away with its annual Rookie Symposium in favor of team-run rookie transition programs, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Rookie Symposium was the NFL's version of rookie orientation for 18 years, open only to drafted rookies and held in Ohio, usually over the span of four days. It became infamous when news leaked that Hall of Famer Chris Carter told rookies in a speech to have a "fall guy" ready in case they got in trouble with the law. The Symposium will be replaced this year with the Rookie Transition Program, which will be hosted individually by all 32 teams and open to all rookies. read more | |
