Imagine you're an Eagles fan right now
You start off the season 3-0 and head into your bye week. Come out and lose the next two games. Now you look at your remaining schedule and outside of the Bengals you don't have a team with a losing record left.

On paper, that certainly is a tough stretch for Philly.
Flip side, Carson Wentz is living up to his draft status. |
Re: Imagine you're an Eagles fan right now
Tough schedule but getting rid of Chippy moves the club in the right direction.

Saw bits and pieces of this one ...
Philly was all over Bradford. Jim Schwartz has a solid group on defense. |
Re: Imagine you're an Eagles fan right now
It's funny how Philly couldn't stop a runny nose last year, and by no means where they an inexperienced group, yet they bring in a defensive coordinator with a successful track record, and he turns them around immediately.
We get Rob Ryan, and replace him with Dennis freaking Allen... If anyone expects these young players to develop, Payton and Loomis have to do better than that. |

i do agree about the eagles but they have better players than we do, and check into it but pretty sure the eagles had a lot of injuries last year. PLus they got rid of some guys too |
Re: Imagine you're an Eagles fan right now
I respectfully disagree that they have better players than what we have when healthy. That defense in Philly has been bad going back a number of years. I'm sure they had some injuries last year (every team does) but it wasn't enough to be as bad as they were, in my opinion.
And I am not basing my opinion on Allen by this year alone. The guy has never proven to be a difference maker at any point in his career. He once had a so-so defense in Denver, but has not shown to be an innovator, schematically. I think the Saints can do way better. Schwartz, as much as I don't like him, has been in numerous places and always had top defenses. He's not a good head coach, but he can coach defense. He was on the market... We stuck with Allen. I know the injuries hurt, but for the long term future this team needs a true D-coordinator, and not a guy who is better as a position coach. Just my thoughts. Edit- I corrected the last part of this post. I meant to say " and NOT a guy who is better as a position coach". |
