Re: Atlanta Release CB Jalen Collins
Saints should at least bring him in for a tryout.

Re: Atlanta Release CB Jalen Collins
He doesn't know the play book, hasn't played in a year, and is obviously a head case.
Upgrade over Harris and Williams? Definitely |

Re: Atlanta Release CB Jalen Collins
I want two to three months clean.
Jalen Collins has been released, the Falcons announced. Collins hasn’t played at all this season and his 10-game suspension for a second violation of the league’s PED policy just came to an end. Collins is due to make $928,440 this season. The 10-game suspension will cost him $546,141 Use the the second suspension as leverage to keep the contract on a "prove yourself" basis only Falcons are still on the hook for $1.128 M through 2018 $577,617 dead cap remaining in 2017 ( original dead was $1,103,758) $551,879 dead cap in 2018 We are talking taking a gamble for chump change on our books. The talent is there Collins started six regular-season games last season (2016) in place of Trufant and then started in the postseason. He had 31 tackles, 10 passes defensed and two interceptions during the regular season. Do not get gun shy with a month to go. 2018? = $0 dead money against our cap I would sign him if his head is screwed on straight and he agrees to a short leash. A "prove yourself" contract were the falcons pay all of any dead money if he does not work out in 2018. Additional money would be from a performance based contract. The Falcons took a chance when drafting Collins, who admitted to failing multiple drug tests at LSU, and a number of teams red-flagged him as a result of his marijuana use. I would kick the tires with the garage door open |
