Forget Alex for a second ....
Kirk Cousins will receive a ridiculous contract. I could see him landing in Jacksonville or Denver. The bidding war could escalate. Best of luck to Alex though. He was good last season for the Chiefs. |

domino effect - potentially 6 QB's could go in the first round, but a few just dropped substantially
5 of the top 10 teams won't be drafting QB's, and if one of them signs Cousins (very likely), guys like Jackson and Rudolph will drop |

Washington will be Washington. Shooting themselves in the foot, reloading and then doing it again. The big mistake they did a couple of years back is not giving Cousins a longer contract when he could be had for a cheaper price.
Alex Smith is a good QB, much better than he gets credit for but he is at the tail end of his career. Cousins could have well over a decade left and while he is no Brees or Brady I'd say he is in the second tier of quarterbacks in the leauge. |
