edit: He released a statement saying he didn't feel he could play at a high level anymore. Still think he could have handled it better.

Well it's his reputation, but people are going to have a hard time forgetting it. Think about it - if a former Pro Bowl Saint did this to another team I would have mixed feelings about him getting into the Saints ring of honor.
