Why Identifying the Mike LB is important

It is overly simplified but a decent piece.

If the quarterback calls out someone lined up far to the right as the Mike, the offensive line will aim themselves to the right, the center blocking the Mike, the guards blocking the defenders lined up to either side of him, and the tackles blocking the defenders two people on either side of the Mike.

This part i slightly erroneus. It is not a fact that the center has the mike as he kinda states. It depends on a whole lot of variables. A lot of times the OL trades blocking assignments at the snap oft the ball and even when the defence have started to rush.
