If we assume that the contest will be something in the range of 30-20 Brees or 30-20 Maholmes, there is about a 1-in-10 chance of it being 25-25 (or 23-23 or whatever with 3rd party candidates). The merits of splitting it don't matter, nobody can vote to split it, the tie has to occur by pure chance, and that seems to be about 1-in-10 with a close contest and 50 votes.
Brees leads in wins, PFF rating, passer rating, etc. Maholmes just has a bunch of yards and TDs because his defense is garbage so they never slow down and run the ball. Maholmes #3 receiver is a $16 million per year free agent. Brees #2 receiver has at times been an undrafted rookie. Maholmes has the top TE in the league. Brees has the oldest TE in the league. |
