WTH is going on in Pittsburgh?

I saw this coming when Big Ben threw Brown under the bus the same way the offensive line did to Leveon Bell.

He can ask but good luck with that. $21 million dead cap if they trade him.

It's not a demand but he has asked

That's different! As long as he said "Please"!

Re: Former Teammate of Antonio Brown warns about paying WR BigMo

If we actually had the cap room to pay him what he wants and the trade pieces to make the Steelers to actually want to give him to us... I'd be all over this.

There is something about the way the Steelers are doing things that doesn't feel right. When you had players on the team come out publicly and criticize Le'Veon Bell for asking for more money and sitting out... that just didn't sit well with me. And now this stuff coming from Brown. There really does seem to be a culture on the Steelers that doesn't really respect anyone's contribution.

Nah I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, and I'm a fan of the guy. He's the dictionary definition of a primadonna though. You wanna talk about distractions and possible locker room cancer? That's him all over. Not worth the drama he'd bring honestly, especially not at this point. He's entering the decline portion of his career.

Also, on the Bell subject, I don't blame his teammates for calling him out. What he did was selfish and greedy, there is no getting around that. Disagree if you like, but you're wrong. I lost all respect for the guy for pulling that stunt. You don't get to make multiple million dollars per year and cry about not getting more. Especially when all you do is play a ****ing game. What's worse is that he set a precedent that other *******s will follow. **** him, I hope he never find success in the league again.

He’d eat up too much cap. I’m good. He’s one of the best I’ve ever seen though. He’s Jerry Rice good.

He sure looked good against us...

He's old. So is Julio. When the wheels start falling off they fall off quick. 24 months and both will be either retired or playing as the 3rd option.

Brown is a really precise route runner. I don’t think you’ll see him fall off a cliff like that. Julio isn’t as precise, but he’s still extremely proficient. They can be like Larry Fitzgerald and contribute for a long time.

And they will be on losing teams just like Rice and Fitz towards the end. They contribute to losing.

Rice was on that Raiders team that went to the Super Bowl late in his career and went for 1,000 yards in year 17 and 18 of his career.

The Cardinals don’t have a Quarterback. That’s no fault of Fitz. He’s been the consummate professional and loyal to that franchise. He also went for 1,000 yards in 2017, 2016, and 2015. Antonio Brown is of that kind of talent pool.

He and Julio have a lot of good years left. WR isn’t like running back.

AB and Julio will be watching the playoffs on TV. Good players but not good enough. Fitz and Rice are superb route runners. Totally different style of WR's which is what a WR has to have to achieve a long career. Not many have done it. More of a fluke than anything. 31,32 the wheels start coming off.

Antonio Brown is a superb route runner. He’s in that tier with Fitz and Rice.

I give them both slightly less than 24 months. Either out of the NFL or some backup roll. I stand by it just as I stood by Meredith not working out way before the season started.

Agree very much with those first two statements. Here's what Rice, Fitzgerald have in common - they rarely take a plays off, ever. In fact, I'd take Fitz in his prime over the mercurial Randy Moss...

Jones and Brown do when they're not featured or are being used as a decoy for teammates - And neither Julio not Antonio have balled out since after getting the Big Mo contracts...

And that's why I posted, shared the very telling tweet with video of Ryan Clark who revealed to viewers what's really going on - even though Roethlisberger is as much a prima donna a$$hole as well...

And it's what I've talked about the Saints making mistakes giving big contracts to players here who want a big contract and then want even more to actually do something (i.e. Byrd, Armstead)...

Julio has been (thankfully) especially toxic to the Falcons as any contract he signs is only good so long as he's the highest paid receiver in the league (and has enough coin to replace lost diamond earrings)...

So how does a team have a cap management plan to build a winner when you've got a guy hogging up any and all accrued cap space with cap limit inflation?

Glad they're not our problem and hopefully Michael Thomas recognizes this and his ego doesn't get in the way of his practical nature and he gets maximum dollar with the Saints that still allows the team to compete...

I'd say more like Marvin Harrison good.

I can’t really say Brown hasn’t balled out.

104 catches
1,297 yards
15 TDs

He’s still putting up gaudy numbers. I agree with you about not putting too much money into a WR. I’m not sure how the negotiations with Thomas will go in the future. I hope he wants to stay more than he wants a huge payday.

Buddy of mine is from WV, huge Steelers fan - we watch DVR games of Steelers as he joins us when we go out for Saints games...

He brought Brown's PT effort to my attention and verified it watching the games that when the ball isn't going to him, Brown barely puts effort into the routes...

In so far as Thomas is concerned, he's put up, so should the Saints, but that doesn't mean the contract numbers can't be done to allow the Saints to sign others...

I can't say AB has fallen the way he smoked Lattimore. I think their air attack won't fall off the way JUJU play

That’s true. He’ll definitely pull a Randy Moss.
