On paper, sure the Browns will contend in the AFC this season. I believe Baker is the real deal at QB + they've added (Odell, Hunt, Greedy, Sheldon) nice pieces on both sides of the ball ... but the Super Bowl? ...
Make the playoffs first. |

They have most of the pieces in place. It's a matter of getting all of the pieces to fit together nicely. History says that a team of stars rarely succeeds because the egos get in the way.
It's also difficult to see a team that has lived in the NFL cellar for decades somehow winning it all in their first winning season. Agree with KM, 1 - have a winning season 2- make the playoffs 3-win playoff games |

They will be fun to watch. Not much chemistry though. Hunt is gone for most of the season so not sure why they even brought him up. A lot of talent but not much chemistry. Maybe wildcard.

I have them making the playoffs, but definitely not the SB.
The NFL has never been like the NBA where you can predict the winner in the off season. Over the past several years, the NFC has been the tricky conference to predict cause teams rise and fall so quickly, while the AFC up until 2015 was dominated by two quarterbacks back and forth. Right now, I think there is going to be some mystery team out of the NFC that no one expects at all and the AFC is going to be the usual suspects in the Pats. |

Luck is not a bust. People on the other Saints forum constantly nitpick his INT percentage, but when you look at all his numbers across the board, he's done pretty darn well with minimum talent around him in a similar way John Elway did on those early Denver teams with Reeves' obsolete Smashmouth offense. INTs and win/loss percentage seem to be the only two QB stats that people focus on heavily these days, but they aren't all that matters. Luck has his bad games and will bounce back the next week. He legitimized himself last year proving that he wasn't a fluke from the early success when Indy was beating up on their awful division. Not to get off subject, but this is something that grinds my gears with QBs and stats. I'd much rather have the fearless QB who isn't scared of throwing INTs and will take dangerous shots down field. Give me Elway, Favre and Luck any day of the week over guys like Rodgers and Cousins whom will stand there and take the sacks and throw out of bounds to avoid messing up their stat line. The Colts were the hottest team last year going into the playoffs. If not for some rare chip shot misses from Adam V, they would've entered the 4th quarter 17-24 vs K.C. The Chiefs were doing everything to blow that game with Reid's horrible play calling when they had a big lead. He started going for it on 4th down and if not for a few screw ups, Indy would've took them to the wire and probably beat them. |

For their fans sake I hope they can just become a stable franchise. String together a decade of 7-9, 10-6 and an occacional 12-4 season and maybe andvance in the playoffs a time or two.
Mayfield seems like the real deal and if they can keep building a team around him that franchise just might be able to do the kind of turnaround we did when Brees and SP arrived. |

Mayfield has burned a lot of bridges in his short career, we'll see if Kitchens and The Monkman can keep him grounded.
