Cowboys owner and General Manager Jerry Jones hinted that he won’t be too upset about it if running back Ezekiel Elliott continues his holdout into the start of the regular season.

Jones said this morning on 105.3 The Fan that he wants Elliott to be fresh late in the season.

“We’ve got a marathon here. We want Zeke when we get to the playoffs,” Jones said. “We want Zeke when we’re in the dog days of the season.”

I hope Zeke continues to pout and throw tantrums and sow chaos and dissension in the Cowboys' locker room and in the front office. I hope this turns into a long, dragged-out drama scene with no end in sight. But they do have an easy first three games. Being away from camp, being away from all of preseason, not working with the playbook or gelling with the other players -- even if Zeke does eventually come back by the time we play them in week four, without any camp or preseason time, I sorta doubt that he will be at complete 100% effectiveness until he gets a few games and practice time under his belt. But I really hope he stays greedy and keeps sitting it out, and we clobber them on national TV in week 4.
