Lamar Jackson

Wow. This guy is fun to watch. He epitomizes "dynamic" but he's going to get hurt, and that's going to be too bad.

Yeah, the Ravens are unabashedly going all college style with him. That's all fine and dandy, until you have Donovan McNabb knees after a couple of years. There's a reason most teams have always shied away from letting their QB's run, whether they had the ability or not.

Re: Lamar Jackson

A few weeks ago everyone was talking about how the Patriots were unbeatable and that they may go undefeated, etc, etc. Now I just don't see how the Patriots have any chance getting passed the Ravens. Belichick is a genius, so perhaps he will come up with an amazing game strategy, but the Patriots better pray that the Ravens get knocked of by someone like KC before they meet.. otherwise it'll be the Ravens playing us in the Super Bowl.

I want to throw this out there though. I do expect Lamar Jackson to regress next year. I think Lamar is a somewhat above average thrower of the football, but definitely not elite. Compared to some of the other guys that have had amazing starts only to be shut down in the following seasons(RG3) for example.. I think Lamar is far more effective, will be harder to solve, and will have a long prosperous career. He will be slowed down some once teams have an offseason to think over an approach. It won't be this year though.

Everybody gets hurt. It won’t be because he scrambles. It’s far more likely any injury that he’ll endure will take place while he’s in the pocket.

Incredible performance. I totally get why people are talking about him. However, somewhere in the 3rd quarter I saw he took a solid hit on a play running to the sidelines, I was kinda surprised he got up alright. As others have said, it's just a matter of time.

They sure look scary good. I'm happy for Ingram, Snead and I will always be a fan of John Harbaugh after gifting us Wil Lutz. I could definitely see a Saints- Ravens SB.

Lamar was incredible & so was Mark Ingram ...

I wonder if the Ravens "peaked" too soon though ?

He's already been hurt scrambling last year. Same for Watson. It can be done for a little while but eventually the hits will become more violent.

What he is doing is fun to watch but it's not sustainable. Never has been never will be.

I think Jackson will have a better career than Vick. He's more savvy throwing the ball. And the Ravens OC deserves a raise, this pistol 2 TE stuff is for real.

The statistics don’t coincide with that premise. QB’s get hit ALL the time. Whether they’re running or throwing they take licks. Him taking the hit after running isn’t any different from him taking a hit after already releasing the ball which happens damn near every play.

Would love to see what Taysom could do with his abilities - hell, he's even trucking DBs!

He's going to be able to keep running up the middle like a RB's even though no QB has been able to do it and have real success. You are correct. Accept my apology. He will do this and win a couple of SB's and prove everyone wrong.

Will say this about the Ravens...if Fox gives us Tampa Bay @ Jacksonville on TV here in New Orleans on Sunday, instead of Ravens/49ers, I will be pissed!

I think he could run that offense Baltimore is utilizing. He’s nowhere near as fast or quick as Lamar, but I think we’d see positive results.

What QB has had the offense built around him in this fashion? The closest thing to it is Cam Newton and he’s been quite a success in the NFL. Russell Wilson has 4,000 yards rushing and a Super Bowl to show for it. We haven’t seen a large enough sample size of mobile quarterbacks with offenses suited to their needs to make such an assertion.

A lot better since the Flacco show moved to Denver.
